Wifi constantly downloading android

 · Feb 6, 4. 8. at AM. #1. I have had really strange behaviour over the last three days where my Wifi is constantly uploading and receiving data I switch wifi off and on and it happens again. When I switch wifi off and have mobile data on - it constantly connects to 3g and transmits so I keep it off.  · When I'm in wifi the download arrow is constantly blinking. On for a sec then off. I don't have any push accounts. When on just 3g it doesn't do that at all, no data transfered unless I open a app or so something. It's murdering battery constantly connecting. I downloaded network traffic to try and see what is usually the data but it just shows "system".  · Leader. PM. I would look under settings usage and then select the top app and see how often they each run in the background. That could help you pinpoint it. If you have location on for any of your apps it could be doing that. Really any number of small background things. 0 .

Another issue found after the update: my wifi icon is now showing both uploading and downloading arrows all the time on the notification bar. If I pull down the quick setting menu the wifi icon there shows nothing. I remember previously both icons only show the arrows when there are activities over wifi. Anyone noticed this too?
